Francois Fortier’s a web developer, a techie, a geek and a media junkie, a Montrealer and ONE of 2FatDads.
By day and some evenings, I’m an eBusiness Manager for a company that sells a Hell of a lot of smartphones; my job is to make it a lot easier for our customers not only to buy these phones but also to manage all of their lines, users and costs. We do well and I’m really proud of my work so if you want to know more, please do get in touch.
I blog on a semi-regular basis over at 2fatdads.com about tech & gadget news and hacks. And then there is our regular DadCast, it’s a clearly canadian podcast where I’m joined every week by some good friends for a bit of a chat a few brews and the occasional guest. And for those moments when I just need to get it out of my system, there’s always JohnnyLeCanuck.com which has become my outlet of emotional hygiene1. On the move and in between cups of coffee, I Tweet far too often about the Habs, Technology, being a Dad and of course Canada and The Great White North, so follow @JohnnyCanuck. I also like to take pictures, come on over to see these pictures in their full context and read why I love my Flickr Pro account so much.
I’ve always loved photography mainly because I secretly want to be Peter Parker. Which is also explains why I took up rock climbing. I am pretty sure I’ve always had a camera, but I do remember stealing my dad’s Minolta on occasion before I could actually buy my own 35mm point and shoot. Needless to say I’ve upgraded a couple of times and gone digital a few times over. My Pentax K200d dSLR now gets hooked up to Aperture almost as often as I charge my iPhone
So when I’m not jacked into my MacBook Pro or my iPhone, I’m pretty much driven by my need to Get Out into The Great White North and exploring this Planet ERF. I’m a little but of an adventurer and will always prefer to dodge trees screaming down a mountain, paddle through the calmest or whitest of waters, ride some waves and harness the power of the wind then sit on a bike watching yet another screen with 20 other sweaty fat dads. As small as the Internet and Social Medias make this beautiful blue marble look, it’s a really really big place that I hope to see more of as the kids grow up and adopt some of my crazy hobbies.
This is not my mine, all credits got the awesome and insanely funny guys at You Look Nice Today for coining such a perfect term. If you are not listening to YLNT yet, get some headphones and iTune in (NSFW).↵
